Yunnan’s Dehong is expected to enter a traditionally high-water period from June 1, 2017, and three silicon metal producers in the region restart production before the arrival of high-water season.

SHANGHAI, May 24 (SMM) – Yunnan’s Dehong is expected to enter a traditionally high-water period from June 1, 2017, and three silicon metal producers in the region restart production before the arrival of high-water season.

To encourage production enthusiasm in the region, local government slightly cut power prices in May from the level set during the low-water period. So, three local silicon metal plants resumed production in advance.

Most of local producers will return online on June 1, except several ones which have not decided its restart time due to environmental factor, high raw material costs and sluggish silicon metal prices.
