SHFE 1706 lead opened at RMB 15,805/mt and closed at RMB 15,795/mt, up RMB 65/mt or 0.41%.

SHANGHAI, May 23 (SMM) – On Tuesday, SHFE 1706 lead opened at RMB 15,805/mt and then advanced to RMB 15,955/mt. The contract later declined to RMB 15,760/mt as shorts strengthened and then fluctuated slightly. SHFE 1706 lead closed at RMB 15,795/mt, up RMB 65/mt or 0.41%. Trading volumes fell 10,026 to 44,096 lots and positions dropped 4,634 to 30,974.

SHFE 1706 lead will keep fluctuating at current level for a short term.

Sluggish Transactions in Domestic Secondary Crude Lead Market, Prices at 15,250-15,400 Yuan/mt

The domestic secondary crude lead market experienced sluggish transactions. As of February 6, 2026, the ex-factory tax-exclusive offers for domestic secondary crude lead stood at 15,250-15,400 yuan/mt. Downstream refined lead and alloy smelters gradually entered the holiday period, showing weak stockpiling willingness. Overseas lead ingot suppliers basically halted transactions with China due to poor consumption in the Chinese market, with only some previously concluded shipments maintaining normal in-transit transportation. The trading atmosphere in the secondary crude lead market will continue to weaken next week.
