Without stimulus from new capacity cut program, aluminum prices are expected to drop slightly this week, SMM predicts.

SHANGHAI, May 22 (SMM) –Without stimulus from new capacity cut program, aluminum prices are expected to drop slightly this week, SMM predicts.

LME aluminum will sink below moving averages and mainly trade between $1,885-1,930/tonne. SHFE 1707 aluminum will fluctuate around moving averages and mainly move between 13,800-14,100 yuan/tonne.

Chalco Continues Hiking Aluminum Prices in Major Markets on May 22 

In domestic spot market, spot discounts will expand further to 140-90 yuan/tonne over SHFE 1706 aluminum.
