BEIJING (Scrap Register): With the strong demand from the real estate and air conditioning sector for Copper, China's Copper demand increased by about 22 percent in March to 822500 mt when compared to 676500 mt in February.

Copper stock of 50000 mt in March was added by the Chinese bonded warehouses, compared with 110,000 mt added in February.

During March, refined copper imports of China was seen at 248000 mt which increased by 19000 mt when compared to 229000 net imports in February. Refined copper production of the country during March was totaled at 642000 mt, an increase of 7500 mt when compared to 634500 mt in February.

The main factors for the strong demand, which is the real estate and air conditioning sector has seen a good growth rate. During the first quarter the real estate investment increased 9 percent when compared to last year and air conditioning production during March also increased 33 percent from last year.
