SHANGHAI, May 15 (SMM) – Refined lead price dropped slightly last week, while secondary lead price were more resistant to falling, with main price range at RMB 15,350-15,500/mt.

First, battery scrap supply decreased due to off-season of downstream battery market. Second, many small secondary lead smelters suspended output, and large secondary lead smelters reduced production interest, as volatile lead price and high cost led to hard profit lock and governments launched environmental checks. Third, battery producers, showing sluggish raw material demand, purchased goods based on orders or produced by inventories on hand.
