Taseko Gibraltar Mine Posts Rising Copper Output in Q1 2017

SHANGHAI, May 9 (SMM) – According to Canada Taseko Mines’s report in Q1 2017, copper and molybdenum output at Gibraltar mine increased continuously with improving copper ore grade, reported by Webstock.

Copper output at Gibraltar mine ascent stably over the past year, and the mine produced 41.30 million pound of copper mine in Q1 2017, higher than Q4 2016’s level at 40 million pound and Q1 2016’s level at 28.80 million pound.

Besides, Gibraltar mine produced 900,000 pound of molybdenum in Q1 2017.

The company’s CEO Russell Hallbauer indicated on teleconference of Q1’s revenue that Taseko will put Florence copper mine into operation and has debugged facilities.

“Rising copper prices bring profits at Gibraltar mine”, Hallbauer said, “the company invests constantly into various projects, as copper price increased from $2.2 per pound nine months earlier.”
