SHFE 1706 Zinc Closes with Losses (2017-5-5)

SHFE 1706 zinc opened at RMB 21,485/mt today and rose to RMB 21,630/mt.

SHANGHAI, May 5 (SMM) – SHFE 1706 zinc opened at RMB 21,485/mt today and rose to RMB 21,630/mt, and plummeted to RMB 21,305/mt. with growing long positions, zinc rallied to RMB 21,460/mt, but then slumped to RMB 21,275/mt. SHFE 1706 zinc closed at RMB 21,895/mt, down RMB 225/mt or 1.05%.

Trading volumes on SHFE 1706 zinc decreased 88,250 to 558,000 lots, and positions decreased 1,916 to 239,000. Positions on SHFE 1707 zinc added 11,184 to 242,000, which became the most actively traded contract. SHFE 1706 zinc is expected to hover at current level this evening.
