Southwest China to See Concentrated Release of New and Restarted Aluminum Capacity, SMM Says

Several companies in Southwest China will bring restarted or new aluminum capacity online in coming months.

SHANGHAI, May 3 (SMM) –Several companies in Southwest China will bring restarted or new aluminum capacity online in coming months, SMM survey found.

Chalco (Zunyi) planned to restart 160,000-tpy aluminum capacity on May 1. Chongqing Tiantai Aluminum will bring 60,000-tpy aluminum capacity back online on May 20. Guangxi Hualei New Materials will put 500,000-tpy new aluminum capacity into operation on August 28. Guangxi Investment Group will put 250,000-tpy new aluminum capacity on stream in May and restart 150,000-tpy aluminum capacity in July.
