Yunnan’s Nujiang will implement new power tariff for the high-water period from May 1, and local silicon metal producers are expected to restart production from early May.

SHANGHAI, Apr. 26 (SMM) –Yunnan’s Nujiang will implement new power tariff for the high-water period from May 1, and local silicon metal producers are expected to restart production from early May.

The new power price, which is still under the process of approval, will be released by local government.

A total of 29 furnaces at 6 silicon metal producers are expected to come online in early May.

Silicon metal plants in Nujiang mainly produced #300 and #400 silicon metal in 2016, and only one producer manufactured #553 silicon metal (oxygen-free).
