Rio Tinto Keeps 2017 Output Guidance Unchanged for Bauxite, Alumina and Aluminum

Rio Tinto has maintained its 2017 guidance for bauxite, alumina and aluminum production, according to its latest quarterly report.

SHANGHAI, Apr. 25 (SMM) –Rio Tinto has maintained its 2017 guidance for bauxite, alumina and aluminum production, according to its latest quarterly report.

The company sees its bauxite output at 48-50 million tonnes, alumina output at 8-8.2 million tonnes and aluminum output at 3.5-3.7 million tonnes.

Rio Tinto produced 11.3 million tonnes of bauxite in Q1 2017, up 2% year-on-year, but down 7% quarter-on-quarter, produced 2.05 million tonnes of alumina, unchanged year-on-year, but down 3% quarter-on-quarter, and produced 889,000 tonnes of aluminum, up 2% year-on-year, but down 3% quarter-on-quarter, its quarterly report showed.
