SHANGHAI, Apr. 24 (SMM) – Aluminum rod production in Shandong took a hit as local government has tightened environmental protection inspections, SMM has learned.
Some local aluminum rod producers that lack environment impact assessment procedures, environmental protection equipment and fail to meet discharge standards have been ordered to suspend production to rectify. SMM is still tracking the capacity affected.
As much as 174 million yuan fines related to violation of environmental protection regulations were levied in the province in Q1 2017.
