WBMS: Global Tin Market in Deficit during January-February 2017

SHANGHAI, Apr. 20 (SMM) – Global tin market was in a deficit of 200 tonnes during the first two months of 2017, according to latest data from World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS).

WBMS data showed global refined tin output increased 5,000 tonnes during Jan.-Feb. 2017 compared with the same period last year. In the same period, tin output in Asia rose 6,200 tonnes, while tin apparent demand in China climbed 5.2%.

Tin demand worldwide totaled 60,300 tonnes during Jan.-Feb. 2017, down 2.6% year-on-year. Tin consumption in Japan was 5,300 tonnes in the same period, up 24% year-on-year.
 
In February 2017, global refined tin output was 30,600 tonnes, while demand was 31,100 tonnes.
