SHFE Copper Finishes with Losses (2017-4-18)

SHFE 1706 copper opened lower at RMB 46,430/mt and closed at RMB 45,850/mt, down RMB 760/mt.

SHANGHAI, Apr. 18 (SMM) – On Tuesday, SHFE 1706 copper opened lower at RMB 46,430/mt and then fluctuated at around RMB 46,400/mt. The contract later plunged to RMB 45,740/mt with diving ferrous metals. SHFE 1706 copper closed at RMB 45,850/mt, down RMB 760/mt. Positions were up 29,406 to 259,000 and trading volumes were down 94,168 to 356,000 lots. Positions of all SHFE copper contracts rose 16,634 to 598,000 and trading volumes fell 135,000 to 524,000. SHFE 1706 copper declined due to other falling metals on Tuesday.

The contract is expected to rally on Tuesday’s night trading after a rapid slump.
