SHANGHAI, Apr. 17 (SMM) - The average operating rate at Chinese copper tube/pipe producers is expected to reach a record high of 91.33% in April, SMM predicts based on a survey.

Supplies fell short of demand during March and April this year thanks to the peak demand season.

About 25% expect orders to increase further in April. Air-conditioner demand will remain the main driving factor of operating rates at copper tube/pipe plants. 70% see orders remain flat at March, while 5% are pessimistic, saying consumption has peaked in March.
