Silicon Plants in Fujian Not to Restart on High Electric Cost, SMM Reports

Some silicon metal plants in Fujian will not considering restarting production unless electric prices are adjusted, SMM understands.

SHANGHAI, Apr. 13 (SMM) - Some silicon metal plants in Fujian will not considering restarting production unless electric prices are adjusted, SMM understands.

Electric cost for silicon metal plants in Fujian is over 0.3 yuan per kWh above that for Yunnan’s producers after preferential electric price policy in Fujian was canceled. The spread between the two regions is about 0.2 yuan per kWh during the high-water period.

Silicon Plants in Heilongjiang Close to Fight Electric Rates, SMM Reports

After electric price was adjusted, electric cost for industrials in Sanming City reached 0.56 yuan per kWh, a rise of 0.13 yuan per kWh compared to before April 1.
