India added 5.526GW PV installation in 2016/17 fiscal year, a jump of 83% on a yearly basis, according to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

SHANGHAI, Apr. 12 (SMM) - India added 5.526GW PV installation in 2016/17 fiscal year, a jump of 83% on a yearly basis, according to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

The installation volume is awesome, but is still 50% less than the 12GW target, said Bridge to India.

New wind energy installation volume topped the 35% target.
