Zinc Smelter in Zhejiang Caught Illegal for Contaminant with Zinc over 1,900-fold above Limit

Hangzhou-based Fuyang Xinrongfa Zinc Industry Co. was caught illegal as it discharged waste water with zinc content over 1,900-fold above standard, xinhuanet.com reported.

SHANGHAI, Apr. 10 (SMM) - Hangzhou-based Fuyang Xinrongfa Zinc Industry Co. was caught illegal as it discharged waste water with zinc content over 1,900-fold above standard, xinhuanet.com reported.

According to the monitoring report released March 23, copper and zinc content in water sample from the company is much more than the ceiling permitted.

Major suspects have been arrested and in police custody.
