Chinese copper scrap prices see sharp rally on Index on 29th March, 2017

The Chinese copper scrap prices witnessed sharp rise on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on Wednesday, 29th March.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster):  The Chinese copper scrap prices witnessed sharp rise on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on Wednesday, 29th March.

The #1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing saw price rise of CNY 700 per MT each.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also increased by CNY 700 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery was up CNY 250 per MT to CNY 27,700 per MT. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery went higher by CNY 150 per MT to touch CNY 23,450 per MT.

Copper Transformer scrap prices were up by CNY 100 per MT. An up move of CNY 100 per MT was witnessed in Cu Yokes.

Cu/Al Radiator prices increased by CNY 150 per MT over the day.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Heater Cores were up by CNY 100 and CNY 250 per MT respectively on Wednesday, March 29th.

Meantime, prices of Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units witnessed no change in prices over the previous day.

[SMM Steel] India Domestic Steel Prices Decline on Slower Demand
[India Domestic] India domestic steel prices decreased amid slower near-term construction demand and cautious buying. Secondary-market rebar prices dropped between 5-10 USD/tonne (500-1,000 INR/tonne) across key markets. Mumbai Rebar decreased 5 USD/tonne (500 INR/tonne) to 543 USD/tonne (52,000 INR/tonne) EXW Mumbai. Meanwhile, Raipur rebar down 7 USD/tonne (700 INR/tonne) to 526 USD/tonne (50,400 INR/tonne) EXW Raipur. Jalna rebar down by 10 USD/tonne (1,000 INR/tonne) to 528 USD/tonne (50,500 INR/tonne) EXW Jalna. Mandi ingot down by 3 USD/tonne (300 INR/tonne) to 494 USD/tonne (47,300 INR/tonne) EXW Mandi. Scrap prices saw minor fluctuations but are expected to remain stable for now. The market outlook remains cautiously positive with expectations that rebar prices may stabilise or improve rather than fall further as post-monsoon demand picks up.
