SHANGHAI, Mar. 29 (SMM) – The China Smelters Purchase Team (CSPT) agreed on treatment and refining charges (TC/RCs) of $80 per tonne and 8 cents per lb for second quarter, Shanghai Metals Market learns.

The charges for Q2 2017 are below the $90 per tonne and 9 cents per lb level for Q1. The cut is due mainly to supply contraction of global copper ore after production disruption at world’s two large copper mines.

CSPT's members include Jiangxi Copper, Yunnan Copper, Tongling Nonferrous Metals and other large copper smelters in China.
