One low-grade NPI plant in Hubei, China, started to shift to producing rebar since early 2017, Shanghai Metals Market learns.

SHANGHAI, Mar. 22 (SMM) – One low-grade NPI plant in Hubei, China, started to shift to producing rebar since early 2017, Shanghai Metals Market learns. 

The producer mainly produced low-grade NPI (Ni 2.6-2.8%) in 2016, with monthly capacity about 13,000 tonnes. 

Upgrade of Production Resumption at Chinese Steel Mills, SMM Surveys

SMM survey finds that domestic steel mills show high interest in restarting or increasing rebar production due to high profits, which stay at around 700 yuan per tonne.
