SHANGHAI, Mar. 17 (SMM) - Escondida copper mine’s labor union said Thursday they will come back to negotiation table if BHP Billion will discuss the union’s major requests with a written guarantee, wenhua.com reported.
The labor union which has 2,500 members hope BHP Billion will not slash their benefit and treat new and senior staffs will be treated similarly.
As of Thursday, the strike has lasted for 36 days, which has driven up copper prices worldwide.
