Zambia Copper Output to Outstrip 800,000 tonnes in 2017

Zambia Chamber of Mines predicts the country’s copper output will breach 800,000 tonnes in 2017, according to mofcom.gov.cn.

SHANGHAI, Mar. 13 (SMM) - Zambia Chamber of Mines predicts the country’s copper output will breach 800,000 tonnes in 2017, according to mofcom.gov.cn.

Zambia Chamber of Mines CEO TalentNg'andwe said copper output was 770,000 tonnes in 2016, compared to the 1 million tonnes expected.

Mopani Copper Mines, First Quantum Minerals and China Nonferrous Mining Corporation are constructing new projects, which will be contribute to Zambia’s mining industry in the medium-to-long term.
