China Minmetals to Raise Copper Output above 1 million tonnes in Five Years

China Minmetals Corporation will expand production capacity of base metals, with copper and zinc as priority choice, said He Wenbo, Chairman of the company at the NPC&CPPCC sessions.

SHANGHAI, Mar. 7 (SMM) – China Minmetals Corporation will expand production capacity of base metals, with copper and zinc as priority choice, said He Wenbo, Chairman of the company at the NPC&CPPCC sessions.

He said the company will raise copper output to above 1 million tonnes in 5 years via mine expansion or overseas acquisitions.

The company produced about 650,000 tonnes of copper in 2016.
