North American copper scrap prices trend lower on Index on 2nd Mar, 2017

The North American copper scrap prices edged marginally lower on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on March 2nd, Thursday.

MONTREAL (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices edged marginally lower on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on March 2nd, Thursday.

The price of Alternator scrap remained unchanged over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing declined by $0.02 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also down by $0.02 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright too went lower by $ 0.02 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery declined marginally by $0.01 per Lb. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were flat at $0.95 per Lb. #3 Copper-Light copper prices dropped by $0.02 per Lb to reach $2.27 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Radiator scrap remained flat. Copper Transformer Scrap prices remained unchanged. CuYokes prices too witnessed no change from the previous day. Cu/Al Radiator Ends witnessed no change over the previous day. Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe held steady on March 2nd, 2017.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Heater cores prices witnessed no change.

The price of Romex Wire remained unchanged when matched with the previous day.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed units, Starters and Xmas Lights maintained the previous day price levels.

[SMM Aluminum Alloy Flash News] Futures side, the most-traded aluminum alloy 2604 contract opened at 23,580 yuan/mt in early trading, briefly rose to 23,670 yuan/mt, and then, affected by long position reductions, fell in waves to a low of 23,380 yuan/mt. As of the midday close, the latest price stood at 23,425 yuan/mt, down 325 yuan/mt from the previous trading day's settlement price, a decline of 1.37%. Spot side, the ADC12 market generally trended downward today, with mainstream producers mostly lowering quotes by 100 yuan/mt. Affected by the pullback in aluminum prices, cost support weakened, and enterprises adjusted quotes accordingly, but the overall extent of adjustments remained relatively restrained, with market sentiment staying cautious.
