SHFE Nickel Prices Up 2.05% (2017-2-27)

SHFE 1705 nickel opened at RMB 90,410/mt and ended at RMB 90,700/mt, up 2.05%.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 27 (SMM) – On Monday, SHFE 7105 nickel opened at RMB 90,410/mt and then advanced to RMB 91,480/mt and fluctuated above all moving averages. During the afternoon trading, SHFE 1705 nickel ended at RMB 90,700/mt, up 2.05%. The contract found strong support at the 20-day moving average with rising trading volumes and falling positions.

SHFE 1705 nickel will stay firm on Monday’s night trading.

[SMM Nickel Flash] The SMM average price of 10-12% high-grade NPI fell 17.2 yuan/mtu WoW to 1,035.8 yuan/mtu (ex-factory, tax included), while the Indonesia NPI FOB index average price dropped 2.06 $/mtu WoW to 131.2 $/mtu. At the beginning of the week, futures hit limit-down, and nickel prices fell sharply WoW, driving the emergence of arbitrage supplies sold at low prices, leading to a significant decline in high-grade NPI prices.
