GFMS said Peru to supplant China as the second largest copper producing country in the world in 2016, wenhua.com reported.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 27 (SMM) - GFMS said Peru to supplant China as the second largest copper producing country in the world in 2016, wenhua.com reported.

Commissioning at MMG’s Las Bambas mine and expansion of Cerro Verde held by Freeport added to the country’s output.

But Peru’s copper output will slow in 2017.
