Anglo American to Cease Operation at El Soldado Copper Mine

Anglo American announced last Friday it will suspend operation at El Soldado copper mine due to failure in getting approval for redesign of the mine.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 20 (SMM) - Anglo American announced last Friday it will suspend operation at El Soldado copper mine due to failure in getting approval for redesign of the mine.

The suspension at the mine will give limited effect on global copper ore supply, SMM said. The mine only produced 36,000 tonnes of copper in 2015.
