SHFE Lead to Remain Range-Bound Trading (2017-2-17)

LME lead will trade at USD 2,270-2,340/mt on Friday and SHFE 1703 lead will move at RMB 18,500-19,200/mt.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 17 (SMM) – Attention should be on US Conference Board’s leading indicators on Friday. LME lead will trade at USD 2,270-2,340/mt on Friday. SHFE 1703 lead dropped to previous range level on Thursday and will move at RMB 18,500-19,200/mt on Friday.

In China’s domestic market, as spot lead dropped continually on Thursday, spot transaction increased slightly. Spot lead should fall RMB 250/mt to RMB 18,850-19,000/mt on Friday.

Sluggish Transactions in Domestic Secondary Crude Lead Market, Prices at 15,250-15,400 Yuan/mt

The domestic secondary crude lead market experienced sluggish transactions. As of February 6, 2026, the ex-factory tax-exclusive offers for domestic secondary crude lead stood at 15,250-15,400 yuan/mt. Downstream refined lead and alloy smelters gradually entered the holiday period, showing weak stockpiling willingness. Overseas lead ingot suppliers basically halted transactions with China due to poor consumption in the Chinese market, with only some previously concluded shipments maintaining normal in-transit transportation. The trading atmosphere in the secondary crude lead market will continue to weaken next week.
