Dollar Fallback to Ease Pressures on Base Metals, SMM Says

Base metal prices on the SHFE are expected to suffer fewer pressures and stabilize on Thursday, Shanghai Metals Market predicts.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 16 (SMM) – Base metal prices on the SHFE are expected to suffer fewer pressures and stabilize on Thursday, Shanghai Metals Market predicts.

"The dollar fell back after advancing for several consecutive days, and this will ease pressures on base metal prices,"SMM says. 

Key Macroeconomic Indicators for Base Metal Prices (2017-2-16)

Copper: 48,700 -49,250 yuan per tonne
Aluminum: 14,400-14,700 yuan per tonne
Lead: 18,950-19,550 yuan per tonne
Zinc: 23,400-23,700 yuan per tonne
Tin: 147,500-149,500 yuan per tonne
Nickel: 89,000-91,000 yuan per tonne
