Base Metals to Keep Diverging, SMM Says

Base metal prices on the SHFE are expected to keep diverging on Tuesday, Shanghai Metals Market predicts.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 7 (SMM) – Base metal prices on the SHFE are expected to keep diverging on Tuesday, Shanghai Metals Market predicts.

“Euro now comes under pressures from political uncertainties in the single-currency region, while the dollar also faces pressures, and price divergence on the SHFE is expected to be continuing,” SMM says.

Copper: 46,500-47,100 yuan per tonne
Aluminum: 13,600-13,800 yuan per tonne
Lead: 18,500-19,000 yuan per tonne
Zinc: 22,600-22,900 yuan per tonne
Tin: 143,500-146,500 yuan per tonne
Nickel: 85,500-87,400 yuan per tonne

Note: Prices all above are for most-actively traded contract on the SHFE.
