Freeport-McMoRan Inc reported output at Cerro Verde copper mine was 498,951 tonnes in 2016, over 2-fold of 2015’s, according to wenhua.com.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 4 (SMM) - Freeport-McMoRan Inc reported output at Cerro Verde copper mine was 498,951 tonnes in 2016, over 2-fold of 2015’s, according to wenhua.com.

The big growth in copper production at the mine was thanks to recent expansion. The mine is located in southern Peru.
