






SHANGHAI, Jan. 18 (SMM) - Rio Tinto announced January 17 that its bauxite, alumina and aluminum output topped expectations in 2016, according to wenhua.com.
Its bauxite production was 47.70 million tonnes in 2016, higher than the 47 million tonnes target set in October 2016, and up 9% from 2015.
Alumina output was 8.20 million tonnes in 2016, a rise of 5% year-on-year. Aluminum production grew 10% year-on-year to 3.65 million tonnes.
It set output target for bauxite, alumina and aluminum at 48-50 million tonnes, 8-8.20 million tonnes and 3.50-3.70 million tonnes, respectively, in 2017.
