The average operating rate at Chinese copper tube/pipe producers is expected to fall 7.2 percentage points month-on-month to 70.11% in January, SMM predicts based on the latest survey.

SHANGHAI, Jan. 13 (SMM) - The average operating rate at Chinese copper tube/pipe producers is expected to fall 7.2 percentage points month-on-month to 70.11% in January, SMM predicts based on the latest survey.

Their orders decreased in January because of seasonal factor, SMM understands. The 2017 Chinese New Yea holiday will come earlier than years past, and this will also precipitate drop in operating rates. Air-conditioner producers will close for fewer days for the holiday than years past, meaning improved air-conditioner consumption this year compared to 2016.
