India Containerized Shredded Scrap import prices advance; Plastic Scrap prices show mixed trend

India containerized shredded scrap import weekly average prices advanced to $271 a ton during the week ended December 23.

NEW DELHI (Scrap Register): India containerized shredded scrap import weekly average prices advanced to $271 a ton during the week ended December 23, while India's major plastic scrap prices on the Scrap Register Price Index showed mixed trend.
Indian containerized scrap import prices increased by $7 a ton during the week to $271 a ton CFR Nhava Sheva port. Offers of containerized scrap to the Indian market increased by approximately $5-10 a ton the week on the back of global scrap price rises. 
Buying activity remained limited however as a result of subdued demand as well as production cuts by furnaces.
The major plastic scrap commodities showed mixed trend on Scrap Register Price Index during the week. The plastic scrap commodities like ABS(bayr), API, PVC pest grade and PVC resin desi traded higher during the week.
The plastic scrap commodities like Acrylic, C.P.W and HD Moulding (Colour) showed down trend during the week, while HD Blowing, Hips(Baff) and LLDP Blowing remained flat.
