SHANGHAI, Jan. 5 (SMM) - Copper ore and concentrate imports transit the Port of Lianyungang hit an all-time high in 2016, according to cnmn.com.
Copper ore and concentrate imports via Lianyungang were 1.35 million tonnes in 2016, up 73.65% year-on-year, topping the peak of 1.18 million tonnes last seen in 2013.
Major supplies countries were Chile, Peru and Mexico, with imports of 435,800 tonnes, 310,100 tonnes and 156,700 tonnes, which accounted for nearly 70% of the total.
These imports flowed to local traders and smelters in Shanxi, Henan and Gansu. Those to Henan were 719,400 tonnes.
