China Zinc Imports Fall 63.49% YoY in November

China’s refined zinc imports fell 63.49% year-on-year to 25,424 tonnes in November, China Customs data show.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 26 (SMM) - China’s refined zinc imports fell 63.49% year-on-year to 25,424 tonnes in November, China Customs data show.

Exports were up 10.17% year-on-year to 2,056 tonnes.

Imports in the first eleven months of the year totaled 400,951 tonnes, a drop of 10.69%. YTD exports through November were 19,225 tonnes, down 79.86% year-on-year.

China's output of refined zinc in March 2022 is estimated at 501,300 mt, up 42,900 mt or 9.37% MoM and 0.9% YoY. The total output of refined zinc from January to March 2022 is expected to be 1.477 million mt, down 2.19% year-on-year.

China's refined zinc output stood at 519,500 mt in November, up 20,200 mt or 4.05% on the month but down 7.61% on the year. The output from January to November stood at 5.57 million mt, up 0.41% year on year. The alloy output at domestic refined zinc smelters in SMM’s survey sample registered 77,000 mt in November, up 0.35 mt on the month.
