SHANGHAI, Dec. 20 (SMM) – Indonesian Government is drafting a regulation on relief in exports of raw and partly processed mineral products, Jakarta Post reported.
The draft regulation will permit exports of partly processed or raw nickel, bauxite, anode slime and copper telluride, but not unprocessed gold, silver, tin and chromium, according to the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry.

For companies to get a five-year export license, the draft requires miners to pay an export tax and construct a smelter. The government will revoke the license if the miners fail to show progress in smelter construction.
"The [relaxation] plan is still under discussion," Deputy Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Arcandra Tahar told the Post recently.

"It is not yet final, but we expect to have it issued, hopefully, next week [this week]."
Indonesia, a major supplier of nickel ore, has banned exports on raw ores since early 2014, and since then, China’s nickel ore imports from the country have tumbled.
