North American copper scrap prices record marginal decline on 17th Dec, 2016

The North American copper scrap prices edged marginally lower on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on December 17th, Saturday.

MONTREAL (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices edged marginally lower on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on December 17th, Saturday.

The price of Alternator scrap remained unchanged over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing declined by $0.05 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also down by $0.05 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright too went lower by $ 0.05 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery declined marginally by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices too were down by $0.01 per Lb at $0.87 per Lb. #3 Copper-Light copper prices dropped by $0.05 per Lb to reach $2.04 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Radiator scrap dropped by $0.02 per Lb from previous day’s levels. Copper Transformer Scrap prices remained unchanged. CuYokes prices too witnessed no change from the previous day. Cu/Al Radiator Ends witnessed no change over the previous day. Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe held steady on December 7th, 2016.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Heater cores prices were down by $0.01 per Lb each over the previous day.

The price of Romex Wire was down by $0.02 per Lb at $1.25 per Lb when matched with the previous day.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed units, Starters and Xmas Lights maintained the previous day price levels.

[SMM Daily Review of Aluminum Alloy] Futures: The aluminum alloy 2604 contract opened at 22,750 yuan/mt today. After a brief dip in early trading, it then fluctuated upward. It attempted to move higher multiple times during the session but failed to break the intraday high, gradually weakened in the afternoon, and accelerated its pullback late in the session. It finally closed at 22,585 yuan/mt, down 165 yuan/mt from the previous settlement price, a decline of 0.73%. Spot: The ADC12 market as a whole continued to hold prices steady today.
