India Containerized Shredded Scrap import prices up; Plastic Scrap prices slip on currency crunch

India containerized shredded scrap import weekly average prices increased further during the week ended November 18, while India's major plastic scrap prices on the Scrap Register Price Index slipped

NEW DELHI (Scrap Register): India containerized shredded scrap import weekly average prices increased further during the week ended November 18, while India's major plastic scrap prices on the Scrap Register Price Index slipped on currency crunch.

Indian containerized scrap import prices saw an increase of $6 a ton week-on-week to $255 a ton CFR Nhava Sheva port. Imported scrap offers to India saw significant increases this week on the back of the rise in global scrap prices. 

Offers from the US and Europe were heard as high as the $270 a ton mark, however concluded deals remained limited. Scrap imports into India for October also saw a 7% increase month-on-month.

The major plastic scrap commodities down on Scrap Register Price Index during the week. The plastic scrap commodities like Acrylic, API, C.P.W, HD Blowing, HD Moulding (Colour), Hips(Baff), LLDP Blowing, PVC pest grade and PVC resin desi declined during the week.
