Base Metals to See Weak Trading, SMM Says

Base metal prices on the SHFE are expected to be weak on Wednesday, Shanghai Metals Market foresees. 

SHANGHAI, Dec. 14 (SMM) – Base metal prices on the SHFE are expected to be weak on Wednesday, Shanghai Metals Market foresees. 

“Market caution is growing ahead of US’s December rate meeting, despite a highly-anticipated rate hike, shown by overnight trading, and Shanghai market will see weak trading on Wednesday,” SMM says. 

Key Macroeconomic Indicators for Base Metal Prices (2016-12-14)

Copper: 46,200-46,800 yuan per tonne
Aluminum: 12,920-13,120 yuan per tonne
Lead: 20,200-20,700 yuan per tonne
Zinc: 22,300-22,750 yuan per tonne
Tin: 146,000-149,000 yuan per tonne 
Nickel: 93,000-96,200 yuan per tonne
