China Refined Zinc Production Increases 7.83% in 2015, SMM Reports

China’s refined zinc output increased 7.83% year-on-year to 6.18 million tonnes in 2015, SMM reported from the 2016 China Cast Industry Summit.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 7 (SMM) - China’s refined zinc output increased 7.83% year-on-year to 6.18 million tonnes in 2015, SMM reported from the 2016 China Cast Industry Summit.

China’s refined zinc output claimed 44.25% of global total production, said Li Shilong, Vice-Chairman of the (China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association Recycling Metal Branch (CMRA) at the Summit.

As global largest zinc producing country, China’s zinc concentrate output was 4.92 million tonnes in 2015, which accounted for 36% of global total. Zinc smelting capacity represented 40% of global total, he said.
