US Mint to start taking orders for 2017 Gold, Silver Coins on January 9

The U.S. Mint reports that production of certain 2016-dated coins has ended and orders will be accepted for 2017-dated coins starting January 09.

NEW YORK (Scrap Register): The U.S. Mint reports that production of certain 2016-dated coins has ended and orders will be accepted for 2017-dated coins starting January 09. 

The Mint reports that production of 2016 American Eagle silver and American Buffalo gold bullion coins already has been ended for the year. Our remaining inventories will be sold until they are depleted, said a notice from the Mint. 

The Mint also reports that it is completing production of 2016-dated American Eagle gold coins. The Mint said it will begin accepting orders for 2017 American Eagle silver, gold and American Buffalo gold bullion coins on Monday, January 09. 

The 2017-dated silver and gold bullion coins will be launched on an unallocated basis. The Mint also says it will begin accepting orders for 2017 American Eagle platinum bullion coins in late January, with details coming at a later date.
