TAIPEI (Scrap Register): The Taiwanese containerized market for HMS #1&2 80:20 increased by $8 a ton to reach $208 a ton during the week ended October 28.
Offer levels from suppliers of imported ISRI grade scrap continued to rise this week, with some mills known to have bid close to the level that the suppliers were asking for.
Suppliers were, however, reluctant to accept these bids unless mills could match their offer levels.
Domestically, sales volumes of finished long products increased with local stockists of the view that scrap prices will continue to rise and that this will have a knock-on impact on rebar prices.
