SHFE 1701 zinc surged to RMB 21,660/mt after opening and then fell back to RMB 21,440/mt, but later climbed to RMB 21,530/mt as China raised margins and restricted price change.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 23 (SMM) – SHFE 1701 zinc surged to RMB 21,660/mt after opening and then fell back to RMB 21,440/mt, but later climbed to RMB 21,530/mt as China raised margins and restricted price change. In the afternoon, SHFE 1701 zinc surged to RMB 21,790/mt and closed at RMB 21,590/mt, up RMB 65/mt or 0.3%. Trading volumes decreased 96,816 lots to 479,000 lots, and positions decreased 14,944 to 240,000. SHFE 1701 zinc is expected to consolidate at highs in the evening session.
