Philippine MGB Expects Metals Output to Fall in 2016

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) of the Philippines expects a drop in metal output in 2016 from 2015’s level.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 22 (SMM) – The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) of the Philippines expects a drop in metal output in 2016 from 2015’s level due to unfavorable price environment and government environmental crackdowns, BusinessWorld reported. 

Nickel Ore Inventories Fall 370,000 Wmt at Seven Major Chinese Ports

The impact on metals production from the government audit will be big despite of price recovery recently, according to the report.  

The first six months saw a 30 per cent drop in nickel ore production to 10.45 million dmt worth P9.2 billion, and the big decline reflected the impact of the environmental audit and sluggish nickel prices, according to the MGB.
