SHANGHAI, Nov. 21 (SMM) - The most recent SMM survey shows about 20% Chinese copper tube/pipe plants expect their orders to rise in November. Their production was affected by China’s National Day holiday in October, and will recover in November.
About 5% believe orders will fall, citing surging copper prices, which will dampen end-user purchases.
The remaining 75% are neutral. Air conditioner producers will hoard stocks in Q4 during the peak demand season for copper tube/pipe. And output will remain at current level.
The average operating rate at these plants will be 73.40% in November, SMM predicts.
