LME Lead Sets with Losses (2016-11-18)

LME lead is predicted to move at USD 2,165-2,185/mt on Friday and SHFE 1701 lead will fluctuate between RMB 17,780-17,980/mt.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 18 (SMM) – Attention should be on US leading economic indicators by Conference Board in October and November on Friday, which is expected to be lower than previous level. US dollar index will drop from highs on Friday. LME lead is predicted to move at USD 2,165-2,185/mt on Friday and SHFE 1701 lead will fluctuate between RMB 17,780-17,980/mt.

In China’s domestic market, spot lead should trade at RMB 17,900-18,000/mt on Friday with improving trading.

Sluggish Transactions in Domestic Secondary Crude Lead Market, Prices at 15,250-15,400 Yuan/mt

The domestic secondary crude lead market experienced sluggish transactions. As of February 6, 2026, the ex-factory tax-exclusive offers for domestic secondary crude lead stood at 15,250-15,400 yuan/mt. Downstream refined lead and alloy smelters gradually entered the holiday period, showing weak stockpiling willingness. Overseas lead ingot suppliers basically halted transactions with China due to poor consumption in the Chinese market, with only some previously concluded shipments maintaining normal in-transit transportation. The trading atmosphere in the secondary crude lead market will continue to weaken next week.
