NEW YORK (Scrap Register): United States silver scrap prices fell on Monday, while silver futures prices at New York Mercantile Exchange settled lower at $18.151 an ounce.
The major silver scrap commodities on the Scrap Register Price Index traded lower on Monday. The hallmarked silver scrap prices down by 1.2702% to $15 an ounce and non-hallmarked silver scrap prices declined to $13.314 an ounce.
The most active December silver contract on the COMEX division of the New York Mercantile Exchange fell 22 cents to end at $18.151 an ounce, after gaining 3.2% last week.
Silver futures prices at New York Mercantile Exchange settled down as demand for safe-haven assets ebbed after the FBI said that no charges were warranted in the case of Democrat Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server, lifting a cloud over her presidential campaign just two days before the U.S. election.
