European Union (EU) on Wednesday requested World Trade Organization (WTO) to establish a dispute settlement panel to examine Chinese export restrictions on 12 raw materials.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 27 (SMM) - European Union (EU) on Wednesday requested World Trade Organization (WTO) to establish a dispute settlement panel to examine Chinese export restrictions on 12 raw materials.

Raw materials subject to the case include antimony, chromium, cobalt, copper, ferronickel, graphite, indium, lead, magnesia, talc, tantalum, and tin.

EU said China's export duties and export quotas on these raw materials appear to be part of a continuing troubling industrial policy aimed at providing substantial competitive advantages for Chinese producers at the expense of producers and consumers in the EU and across the world.

WTO will consider the EU's request for a dispute settlement panel on November 8, the EU said.
