Kazakhstan Copper, Zinc Output Grows Jan.-Sep.

The Ministry of National Economy of The Republic of Kazakhstan Committee on Statistic said October 17 the country’s refined copper and refined zinc output grew 4.3% and 1% year-on-year, respectively,

SAHNGHAI, Oct. 18 (SMM) - The Ministry of National Economy of The Republic of Kazakhstan Committee on Statistic said October 17 the country’s refined copper and refined zinc output grew 4.3% and 1% year-on-year, respectively, in the first nine months of the year, according to wenhua.com.

The country’s crude steel output also increased 10.6% year-on-year in this period.

KAZ Minerals and Glencore’s Kazzinc contribute a lion’s share in Kazakhstan’s metal output.

China's refined zinc output stood at 519,500 mt in November, up 20,200 mt or 4.05% on the month but down 7.61% on the year. The output from January to November stood at 5.57 million mt, up 0.41% year on year. The alloy output at domestic refined zinc smelters in SMM’s survey sample registered 77,000 mt in November, up 0.35 mt on the month.
